  Agreement with the Barcelona Provincial Council to promote a comprehensive tourist offer  
The City Council, the Barcelona Provincial Council and Turisme de Barcelona have signed the Barcelona is much more programme with the aim of joining forces to decentralise the tourist offer by combining in the same offer the dynamism of urban tourism with the appeal of the beach and the mountains.

  Lecture by the chair of the 'Global Sustainable Tourism Council' (5 June)  
On 5 June, for World Environment Day, Turisme de Barcelona will host a lecture by the chair of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), Luigi Cabrini, setting out the viewpoints of this international body that establishes and manages sustainability standards relating to the world of travel and tourism.

  ‘Barcelona Sports’ reaches 2.8 million spectators in 2014  
The sporting events included in Turisme de Barcelona’s Barcelona Sports program last year reached a total of 2,802,776 spectators, a very similar figure to the previous year. The programme’s objective is to promote the main sporting events that the city hosts and to position Barcelona as an international sporting capital.

  A new boost for international promotion of health tourism  
Turisme de Barcelona and the Barcelona Medical Agency (BMA) association have signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen the international promotion of Barcelona as a leading health destination. This involves giving a new boost to the city’s positioning in this field, building on the good global reputation of Catalan medical centres and their professionals.
